Transient Arrested for Breaking Into Missoula Store
At about 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 9-1-1 reported an automatic front door alarm at Murdoch's Ranch and Home Supply on West Broadway in Missoula.
Missoula Police Sergeant Jim Klawitter said upon investigation, officers found the front door glass had been broken, and the store had been entered.
Nearby, officers encountered a male transient with an injury to his arm that was consistent with an attempt to break out a window. The unidentified man, who appeared to be in his late 50's or early 60's, also had some tagged items from Murdoch's in his possession.
Klawitter said the man was arrested, taken to St. Patrick Hospital for treatment to his arm, and then taken to the Missoula County jail on a felony burglary charge. He will appear in Missoula Justice Court on Tuesday afternoon.
