Roadsnacks.net just released an article detailing the top ten poorest cities/towns in Montana, places that have fallen on tough times or are sadly not as profitable as others.

They analyzed 4 years of census data and 53 places in the state. In no way is this a portrayal of the people who live in these areas. Montana is full of the best people no matter how much money an area or its residents make.

According to this survey North Browning is the poorest area in Montana. Some of the things they looked at are:

Poverty Level
Median Household Income (Lower is poorer)
Unemployment Rate (Higher is poorer)

The top ten are as follows:

  1. North Browning
  2. Pablo
  3. Lame Deer
  4. South Browning
  5. Libby
  6. Hamilton
  7. Dillon
  8. Polson
  9. Hardin
  10. Butte-Silver Bow

For some reason they separated Browning into North and South, so it occupies to spots on the list.
