United Way of Missoula County has just given nearly 1,000 new books to children through several nonprofit groups through their partners at the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.

The Missoula County United Way is galvanizing for its annual Day of Action on Friday, June 18.

The Microsoft Teams meeting that occurred on Tuesday afternoon regarding the future of the Temporary Safe Outdoor Space tent facility just off Highway 93 South across from the Buckhouse Bridge was facilitated by Empower Montana.

With the bitter cold snap and wind chill temperatures reaching well below zero, the residents of the TSOS (Temporary Safe Outdoor Space) shelter just off Highway 93 were offered indoor shelter, but have refused.

The Missoula County United Way and the Hope Rescue Mission hosted a listening session on Thursday to update the public on the TSOS (Temporary Safe Outdoor Space) located just off Highway 93 South near the Buckhouse Bridge.

County road crews graded out a road along with flat, level spaces for the 40 four-person tents attached to raised platforms.

Since Missoula and the state of Montana have been locked down the Missoula County United Way has led the way in helping those who are most affected and the least fortunate in western Montana.

The United Way has always been a source for the community, but will be even more so now, after the order to close all restaurants, bars and breweries came down this week.

The University of Montana and the Missoula County United Way will team up for the second year for the annual University United Food Friday at the University Center Ballroom
