University of Montana Women's Basketball Coach Robin Selvig and his Lady Griz held on down the stretch with tough defense and clutch free throws to beat the Lady Pilots of Portland 68-61 and give Selvig his long-anticipated 800th win.
For the first time since 2008, the Montana Lady Griz will be opening their season with two straight home games, giving head coach Robin Selvig the opportunity to win his 800th game in the friendly confines of Dahlberg Arena. For a town that loves a good party, the anticipation is already growing... and its only June.
On Monday, Montana Grizzly head basketball coach Wayne Tinkle was honored by the Big Sky Conference with his second straight "Coach of the Year" award.The Grizzlies enjoyed a rousing sendoff Tuesday morning on the way to San Jose for a Thursday game against Syracuse.
Only 7 out of 333 NCAA Division 1 women's basketball teams can claim dual credit for 1-making the NCAA Tournament and 2-making the WBCA Academic Top 25 Honor Roll as well. The Lady Griz were the 15th seed
