Relay For Life

This cause has a lot of support as most people have known someone who has battled cancer. It is taking place 4 pm until Midnight on June 9th.

There have been lots of changes in the annual Relay For Life cancer fundraiser in the past few years, but the pervasive smoke from wildfires surrounding Missoula has caused the event to be moved indoors for the first time.

Every June, family and friends of those who have fought cancer and many cancer survivors themselves gather for the Relay for Life here in Missoula.

Due to construction activity at Missoula County High School Stadium, the 2016 Missoula County Relay for Life Event is being held on the campus of Community Medical Center this Friday, June 17.

What's better than enjoying a few beers and supporting a great cause?

Relay for life began in 1985 with one man who walked and ran around a track for 24 hours and raised $27,000 for the American Cancer Society.

On Friday, June 20, over 900 names were read in a solemn ceremony held every year at the Missoula Relay for Life event at Missoula County High School Stadium.

Friday and Saturday, June 21 and 22, dozens of teams participated at the Missoula County High School stadium for the 28th annual Missoula Relay for Life, walking around the running track for 24 hours to raise funds in the fight against cancer.
