The Missoula County Commissioners have officially posted the job opening for a county elections administrator.

The Missoula city election date draws ever closer, with Tuesday, November 7 as the date when all mail ballots are due.

Now that the 45,000 municipal election ballots are in the mail, election officials are predicting that the turnout will only be about 25 percent.

The annual Voter Registration Day is Tuesday, September 26, and Missoula County election officials are preparing lots of informational activities to get residents involved in the voting process.

Missoula City Councilman Harlan Wells declared last week that he would pursue a referendum on the city’s attempt to acquire Mountain Water Company. But according to Missoula Elections Coordinator Rebecca Connors, if Wells can’t get the city council to approve of giving the pubic a yes or no vote, then he won’t have enough time to get the referendum on the June ballot.
