Morel Mushrooms

After the fire, that's when the 'fungi' really starts. A devastating fire season in the Flathead National Forest last year is bringing mushroom hunters out in droves looking for their favorite fungi, the Morel.

With the coming of spring, Morel mushroom pickers take to the hills to gather up their favorite delicacy. Permits are now available for mushroom pickers from the Bitterroot National Forest.
