Masking Order

It’s almost as if Montana Office of Public Instruction Superintendent Elsie Arntzen was channeling the fictional character ‘Cool Hand Luke’ who coined the phrase ‘What we have here is failure to communicate’.

KGVO reached out to the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office to get an update from Sheriff T.J. McDermott on the latter that was sent out nearly two weeks ago on law enforcement’s role in the new masking ordinance.

In a press conference in Helena on Wednesday, Governor Bullock instituted a limited mandatory masking ordinance for the entire state of Montana.

On Friday’s Talk Back talk show, Missoula Deputy County Attorney Kirsten Pabst weighed in on the controversy over the mandatory masking order adopted by the County Board of Health.

Both the Mayor and the Missoula County Commissioners have officially asked Health Officer Ellen Leahy to institute a mandatory masking order ‘in businesses licensed by the Missoula City County Health Department or City of Missoula’.
