A 45-year-old man who fought with another man at a Missoula homeless shelter has died of his injuries.

On Sunday, Missoula Police arrested John Ostermann for allegedly assaulting another man near a store front on East Broadway.

"I beat my dog with a hammer, I did it, your honor," said Shawn Finberg in Missoula Justice Court on Thursday.

MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) — A 21-year-old homeless man has pleaded guilty to aggravated assault for his role in the death of a transient whose body was recovered from the Clark Fork River last August.

Kevin Lino, 27, the man accused of torturing and killing a homeless man under the Reserve Street Bridge in July, has refused extradition to Missoula during a court hearing in Louisiana.

Bernard Frank, a transient who listed his home as the streets of Missoula, was charged with felony burglary on Wednesday, January 15, in justice court.
