The New UM Big Sky Poll was released on Tuesday and the preliminary results show that Montana is still a red state, in that Republican candidates, for the most part, are outdistancing their Democratic opponents at this point.
Following President Trump’s State of the Union Address on January 4, Greg Gianforte and Steve Daines both issued statements responding to the address. Both congressmen listed the impact of new trade deals and a strong economy on Montanans.
Gianforte delivered a speech during a subcommittee hearing on January 15. The hearing was the first ever in the committee’s history to center around marijuana use.
Gianforte delivered a speech in Congress to support his bill, the LIST Act, which amends the Endangered Species Act to grant more power to the Fish and Wildlife Service in the listing and delisting process.
Gianforte’s stance on Medicare for All is that the legislation would restrict access to certain healthcare programs and place healthcare in the hands of the federal government.
