Following the release of a new VA Inspector General interim report showing that Arizona veterans were forced to wait an average of 115 days before receiving their first appointment, Representative Steve Daines once again called on VA Secretary Eric Shinseki to resign.

Representative Steve Daines is scheduled to meet with veterans in Missoula and Helena on Friday to talk about the ongoing issues within the Department of Veterans Affairs and also address the challenges facing Montana veterans as they navigate the VA system.

Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki says he hopes to have a preliminary report within three weeks on how widespread treatment delays and falsified patient scheduling reports are at VA facilities nationwide, following allegations that up to 40 veterans may have died while awaiting treatment at the Phoenix VA center.

Representative Steve Daines asked for Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki to resign on Wednesday, following recent reports of VA hospitals purposely hiding delays in treatments and problems resulting in preventable deaths of veterans awaiting health care services.
