Just after 1:30 on Wednesday afternoon, 9-1-1 dispatched Missoula Rural Fire to a controlled burn that had been fanned by gusty winds just south of Lolo.
There was a controlled burn in the Rattlesnake area on Tuesday, and residents in the area and on the north side reported air quality concerns reminiscent of last summer’s wildfires.
Crews from Missoula Rural Fire and the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation are responding to a grass fire on Saddleback in the Big Flat area.
A homeowner near Reed Butte, not far from Stevensville in the Bitterroot Valley, lost control of a brush fire on Thursday afternoon, and the strong winds in the area spread the fire to over 150 acres, prompting Ravalli County sheriff's deputies to evacuate several homes in the area.
