Start a wildfire and you could be on the hook for the costs of fighting it.

High temperatures and gusty winds are not the only thing National Forests officials are concerned about this fire season, sometimes the biggest threat is people.

The fire danger level in Missoula county and most of southwestern Montana has changed, however, stage one restrictions are still in place.

As of August 1, nearly all of southwestern Montana will be under stage one fire restrictions. The new restrictions bring limitations to both smokers and campers that all Montana residents should be aware of.
