HILO, Hawaii (AP) — A woman charged in Hawaii with parenting interference in connection with a custody battle over her three Montana stepchildren is challenging the warrant that led to her arrest.

Hawaii County prosecutor Jason Skier said Wednesday Angela Bryant's public defender told an extradition hearing she wouldn't agree to waive the warrant.

Phone calls to the public defender's office rang unanswered.

Skier says another hearing has been scheduled for next Wednesday at Circuit Court in Hilo. The court will also consider whether a public defender will continue to represent Bryant.

Bryant is free on $10,000 bail.

Her husband James Bryant was arrested in Florida last week on a felony warrant for not returning the children to their mother in Belgrade, Montana after a Florida vacation last August.
