MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) — A coalition has formed in Missoula to make sure the community gets something out of a plan by developers who want to build an upscale hotel and conference center in downtown Missoula, but want the city to give them a special deal on the land.

The Missoula Community Benefits Coalition wants to make sure developments also come with good jobs, environmental stewardship and affordable homes.

Spokesman Mark Anderlik tells the Missoulian that those are values Missoula residents appreciate.

Members of the coalition include the Montana Chapter of the Sierra Club, Unite Here Local 417, Western Montana Building and Construction Trades Council, Missoula Area Central Labor Council, and others.

Developers have proposed building the Hotel Fox on the old Fox Theater site on the corner of Orange and Front streets.
