Skalkaho Road is Open – Skalkaho Falls Are Impressive

We wrote a story last week that the Skalkaho Highway was still closed to traffic. Only hours after that story appeared, the gates were opened and the scenic, narrow route between Hamilton and Philipsburg reopened for the summer season. That means you can easily go see the rushing water of Skalkaho Falls!

A couple of cautions though - there is a section of road damage where only one lane is open, and do NOT take a high profile vehicle such as a motorhome over the pass, especially if you're not used to driving on forest roads. Watch out for deer and other animals crossing the road. Other than that, it's a beautiful place to explore as we get into summer.
