Sightseeing ATV’s Hinder 41 Firefighters [AUDIO]
An incident Sunday almost kept fire officials from conducting an important controlled burn on the Uptop fire, part of the 41 Complex now burning in the Sapphire Mountains not far from Hamilton. DNRC Fire Information Officer John Daugherty says two individuals on ATV’s were spotted in a closed area. Fire officials sent a helicopter to clear the area, and were able to conduct the burn…that interview is attached.
The 41 Fire has been declared 100% contained, while the Uptop Fire is still 0% contained as of late Sunday evening. Skalkaho Pass remains closed because of burning trees, debris and rock slides on the roadway.
