Missoula Woman Shatters Bus Stop Wall With a Hammer
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On August 6, 2024, Missoula Police Department officers responded to a Mountain Line bus stop near the Missoula Public Library. It was reported that a female broke the glass wall of the bus shelter with a hammer. She was reportedly wearing a green sequin shirt. The value of the damage was estimated to be $400 by Mountain Line.
An officer found surveillance video at the library that showed a woman breaking the glass and then walking toward the library. The officer found the female at a computer in the library. The officer asked her to step outside. The female volunteered that breaking the glass was an accident.
Another officer who was present knew the female from a previous incident of her damaging property at Southgate Mall. The female was further identified as 40-year-old Tarakay Edner from a recent jail booking photo. According to court documents, Edner has multiple pending cases in Municipal Court.
Ender was placed under arrest for criminal mischief. During a search incident to arrest, a small baggie containing a white crystalline substance was found in her right breast pocket. The substance was tested with a TruNarc device and returned presumptive positive.

Edner was transported to the Missoula County Detention Center. At the jail, during an inventory search, a hammer was found in Edner’s bag. She is currently being charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and criminal mischief. According to the Missoula County Jail Roster, Edner’s bond was set at $5,000.
