Montana Senator ‘Outraged’ Over Malmstrom Drag Show
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - Montana Senator Steve Daines called into the KGVO Newsmakers line on Wednesday to express his outrage over what has recently occurred at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls.
“Recently, Malmstrom Air Force base there in Great Falls hosted and promoted on their official media a drag story time for children, followed by a drag show,” began Senator Daines. “Now, just to be clear what a drag show is. These are men parading around in women's clothing and this was promoted for children. In fact, they gave out goodie bags to the first 25 children there. This drag troop is called Mr. Sisters.”
Daines was 'outraged' that a Drag Show for Children was Held at Malmstrom AFB
After conferring with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Milley, and Defense Secretary Austin who both said the Department of Defense did not endorse or fund such activities, Senator Daines concluded that no wonder recruitment is at an all-time low for the U.S. Armed Services.
“It's crazy, and it's no wonder our recruiting numbers are down dramatically,” he said. “When men and women sign up to fight to defend this country, they want to be part of the toughest and most ominous fighting force in the world. We shouldn't be even thinking about having drag shows on military installations for children. This is this crazy woke agenda promoted by the Democrats and President Biden. This is a culture war that we're in right now, to defend frankly, the integrity of the military and the integrity of this great nation.”
Daines Celebrated the U.S. Supreme Court's 'Waters of the U.S.' Decision
Daines also celebrated a recent U.S. Supreme Court decision that dismantles the ‘Waters of the U.S.’ policy, while praising former Montana law professor Rob Natelson, whose writings helped move the court to action.
“The Supreme Court ruled unanimously protecting the private property rights of Montanans and of the American people,” he said. “The WOTUS is ‘Waters of the U.S.’ This is a massive overreach by the Biden administration, and keep in mind this started under President Obama. Trump then reversed these policies, but Biden put them back in place the same as the Keystone XL pipeline. If you remember, Obama stopped the Keystone pipeline. Trump put it back in place and then Biden killed it.”
Daines said the Operative Word in the Debt Ceiling Crisis is 'Debt'
Regarding the recent deal made in Congress to address the debt ceiling crisis, Daines said he voted against the bill and that the operative word for the crisis is ‘debt’.
“My problem is that we aren't dealing seriously about the debt,” he said. “The debt crisis is the biggest single threat we have financially in this country. We're $31 trillion in debt. In the next 10 years, our national debt is expected to increase nearly $20 trillion more; these numbers are massive, and we’re already seeing reports here this morning that because now that the debt ceiling has been raised, the federal government has to go out and find over a trillion dollars here to borrow.”
Senator Daines also voted to block what he considered the Biden administration’s unconstitutional and irresponsible student loan bailout.
