Yesterday, Republican Presidential candidate Rick Santorum said that the country might as well re-elect Barack Obama if the Republican choice is "etch-a sketch" Mitt Romney. Santorum has had no shortage of bad things to say about Obama's Presidency or about Mitt Romney, but this is the first time he's put the two head-to-head and picked a winner. As a Mitt Romney campaign video shows, Santorum has said very different things in the past.

Do you think Santorum really meant what he said, or is he just trying to make a sharp distinction between himself and Romney out of delegate despair?  Santorum is clearly more ideologically aligned with Romney than with Obama and it seems to me that Santorum is going against his own values here. What are your thoughts?
