Safe Winter Travel in Montana
Winter at its worst may still be yet to come in Montana, where the season has been fairly mild so far. Triple-A Spokesperson Pam Moen says that's no reason to neglect the safe driving checklist. Her top tips are making sure batteries and tires are ready for winter travel.
Moen advises putting together a winter survival kit for each vehicle.
She says water, non-perishable food, and your cell phone and charger are other essentials for longer road trips in the winter. Statewide road conditions are available by calling 5-1-1, or 1-800-226-7623. Detailed maps are also online at MDT.MT.gov.
