As the 2010 Census showed, Montana's population is out of proportion with the old voting district lines. In light of this, the Districting and Apportionment Commission is seeking public feedback on how the new district lines should be drawn. There are currently five proposed maps available for public view and comment. KGVO News recently spoke with Jim Regnier Presiding Officer of the Districting and Apportionment  Commission about the process of redistricting.

As Mr. Regnier mentioned, the public is invited to send comments via emai to districting@mt.gov or by appearing in person at one of the redistricting meetings.

A redistricting meeting will be held in Missoula on March 13 at the UM Law school in room 101. A student session begins at 4 p.m. and a public session will follow at 7 p.m.
