Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On September 22, 2025, several Missoula Police Department Officers received information from 911 dispatch regarding a female driver appearing under the influence. The caller, who wished to remain anonymous, reported a female, later identified as 31-year-old Morgan Sweener, was believed to be intoxicated. Sweener had been slurring her words, and the 911 caller further observed Sweener parked sideways in a parking spot. Sweener left the parking lot prior to law enforcement's arrival.

The 911 caller then recontacted 911 to state they had located Sweener in the 1000 block of S 2nd Street W. and further stated Sweener was inside a green 2002 Toyota Camry. An officer responded and located the reported vehicle. The officer approached the vehicle, and Sweener was lying across the center console on her back, with her foot sticking out of the vehicle. The officer also found Sweener was holding the keys to the vehicle in her hand, and her phone was playing loud music.

The officer opened the door and announced himself as law enforcement. Then the officer attempted to wake Sweener by shaking her leg, but Sweener did not react. The officer then performed a sternum rub on Sweener, and she opened her eyes, which the officer noted were bloodshot and glossy. While the officer was speaking with Sweener, her speech was heavily slurred, and she continuously mixed up words. The officer also noticed Sweener had a dazed expression, and her movements were slow and deliberate.

Sweener Becomes Antagonistic

The officer informed Sweener of his observations, including his belief that she had been operating a motor vehicle because the keys were currently in her hand. Sweener became antagonistic and threw the keys on the ground outside the vehicle. The officer asked Sweener to step out several times, but she refused. The officer eventually took control of Sweener's arm and pulled her from the vehicle.

Another officer attempted to administer the SFSTs, but Sweener refused. Sweener was placed in handcuffs and, during this time, made several racially motivated remarks towards officers.

Sweener stated she would provide a blood sample, but based on her behavior, the officer did not believe she would do so. The officer began to prepare a search warrant and learned that Sweener has five prior DUI convictions.

The officer was later informed that Sweener was not cooperating at the hospital, and her behavior was considered a refusal. According to court documents, the officer applied for a blood warrant, which was approved by Judge Holloway. Sweener was subject to a blood draw and was later remanded to the Missoula County Detention Center. She is currently being charged with felony DUI, sixth offense. Her bond was set at $75,000.
