Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On January 1, 2025, at approximately 1:36 PM, Missoula Police Department Officers were conducting a routine patrol when they observed a vehicle pull off Russell Street into the PS Mini Mart. The female driver, Aubrey Goetz, stepped out of the vehicle to go inside. An officer knew that Goetz had a suspended driver’s license. Officers pulled up behind the parked vehicle, walked inside, and ordered Goetz to come back out.

Then an officer looked around the vehicle from the outside and observed multiple items that appeared to be drug paraphernalia. The officer knew Goetz was on supervision through Probation and Parole and contacted their office. At the conclusion of the conversation, Probation and Parole requested a complete search of Goetz and the vehicle on their behalf.

The officer informed Goetz of this and then placed her into handcuffs and into the backseat of a patrol vehicle. The officer conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered a roll of tinfoil, two blue plastic straws with burnt ends, a balled up tinfoil with a blue pill stamped with an “M30” logo, and a balled up tinfoil with a partially burnt blue pill with an “M30” logo. The officer also found a green lunch box with various drug paraphernalia including needles, tourniquets, cotton balls, alcohol swabs, tin foil with burnt residue, and multiple tooter straws.

According to court documents, Goetz claimed none of the items belonged to her, but acknowledged she knew they were there. Goetz claimed that she had picked up a female the night before from a motel. She stated that they were together for a little bit but that Goetz eventually made the female get out of her car.

She claimed that the female made statements to her about wanting her to get rid of the fentanyl pills. Goetz admitted that she uses methamphetamine but claimed to not use fentanyl. Goetz stated that the female left the pills in the vehicle along with backpacks. Officers noted that by her own statements, Goetz was aware of the illegal drugs in her vehicle, knew they were fentanyl, and made no attempt to dispose of them prior to law enforcement contact.

Goetz was placed under arrest and was transported to the Missoula County Detention Center. She is currently being charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.
