Probation Search Leads to Meth Discovery at a Missoula Motel
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On January 22, 2025, at around 2:37 PM, a Missoula Drug Task Force Officer was contacted by an Adult Probation and Parole Officer following a probation search on 39-year-old Savannah Mays. Probation Officers were conducting a probation search of the motel Mays was staying at.
Mays had been arrested earlier at a casino, a place she was prohibited from being, and a key to her motel room was found on her person. Probation and Parole authorized a search of her hotel room following the discovery of her probation violation. During a search of the motel room, a PO located a small container of methamphetamine.
Upon this discovery, the search of the motel room was stopped, and the PO contacted the TFO and requested his response and assistance with the continuation of the search. A further search of the motel room yielded various items of drug paraphernalia which included syringes, pipes, and a digital scale. Another person who had been in the motel took ownership of this material.
Mays was transported to the Missoula County Detention Facility. A short time after her transport, the PO contacted the TFO and indicated that Mays had admitted that she had methamphetamine inside her bra. The TFO responded to their location and met with the PO who showed him a clear Ziploc baggie containing methamphetamine that was found on Mays’ person.
