Police have arrested a man they believe shot three people to death in a small town in southern Montana.

Montana Department of Justice officials said Friday that 39-year-old Robert James LeCou was arrested early Friday in Nine Miles Falls, Washington.

LeCou faces three counts of deliberate homicide for the shooting deaths of two women and one man in Belfry, a town of about 200 people 60 miles southwest of Billings.

Authorities discovered the bodies on Thursday after a worried neighbor reported not hearing from the home's residents in two days.

Cascade County sheriff's officials have declined to identify victims until the families are notified and autopsies are conducted.

Neighbors say the residents of the house were a married couple in their 70s and a younger couple.
