Out to Lunch in Caras Park is a Missoula tradition, and will launch its 28th season on Wednesday, June 5.

Marketing and Events Director for the Missoula Downtown Association Colin Hickey said Out to Lunch has been around for a long time.

"28 years... that's a long time," Hickey said on Tuesday. "It's every Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. There's live music every week, with lots of local bands, but also some touring acts. On July 17, we have the International Choral Festival, which is huge because it only comes every four years."

Hickey said Out to Lunch features more hat just music.

"Evert week we have free kids activities sponsored by local businesses and organizations like the Art Museum, Mismo Gymnastics, and the Spectrum Science Tent," Hickey said. "Just lots of fun stuff for the kids to do, and it's a good time to do it, because school's out."

And, of course, there's the food.

"We have 26 different food vendors down there, with everything you can think of," Hickey said. "We have Big Dipper Ice Cream, Dickey's Barbeque, El Cazador, everything you can think of, all in one spot."

For free transportation, the Out to Lunch trolley travels up and down Higgins offering free rides to the park during the event.
