“Operation Darknet”
The internet "hacktivists" known as 'Anonymous' recently targeted an online service provider known as Freedom Hosting. Freedom Hosting housed more than 40 child pornography websites including Lolita City, which 'Anonymous' claims is the largest source (over 100 gigabytes) of child porn on the internet. Not only did they take down the sites, but they published the names of the users. Here is their threat to child pornographers.
I, like most people, am happy to see this type of activism on the internet, especially from a group that doesn't have the most pristine history. I wonder what good the activists in the Occupy Movement could do if they left their encampments and dedicated themselves to actually helping people directly.
