Two young boys from Corvallis are being cited as heroes after pulling an unconscious two year-old girl out of the Splash Montana pool on Thursday afternoon.

Missoula police are investigating the incident. Sergeant Jake Rosling said the call came in to 9-1-1 at about 3:30 p.m.on Thursday.

"Police and fire department rescue personnel responded to the pool, and CPR was already being administered," Rosling said. "The child was transported to a local hospital. She was reported to be conscious and breathing. The investigation is ongoing. Authorities are asking anyone with photographs or video of the incident to contact the Missoula Police Department."

NBC Montana/KECI-TV reports that witnesses are crediting two Corvallis boys, Brock Perkins, 14, and his brother Austin, 9, with spotting the girl in the water and pulling her to safety.
