It's my daughter's final week of school and she frowns whenever I remind her of that fact. Weird right? I'll say things like "it's your final Monday of the year" thinking her eyes will light up but she instantly gets bummed. We're almost to the point where I might need a DNA test to see if she's actually my kid! It just seems impossible when I think about how different her reaction to the end of the school year is when compared to mine back in the day. And as the school year comes to a close, I saw an awesome story about a mystery donor that decided to open their wallet to help families of Missoula County Public Schools.

Who said there's no such thing as a free meal?

I still remember the mad dash at the end of every school year. There was always a big push to get library books turned in and get the tab for school lunches paid before summer break hit. But seniors of MCPS didn't have to scurry to get the lunch bill paid before putting high school behind them and venturing out into the real world. A post on social media from the school district says a donor decided to pay off the outstanding balance for every graduating senior. As you can see in the Facebook video below, the bill came to almost $5,000. Now that deserves a thumbs-up!

What an amazing gesture!

People have been leaving comments of support for whoever paid the tab. Well-wishers have offered up the following:

  • Awesomeness! Goodness prevails.
  • Perfect. Thank you donor for helping the graduates with that... you're making a difference!
  • May this person be healthy and happy!
  • That is awesome!

Keep the great stories coming!

I could sure get used to these tales of goodwill and kindness. Last week we had the story of a neighborhood placing a pizza order for police, SWAT, and negotiators that were involved in the standoff situation in a South Hills neighborhood. Let's keep throwing the positive vibes out into the world and see what happens. And congrats to the graduating seniors of 2022!

Famous Singers from The Voice, Then + Now

Ten years (and counting) made a huge difference for many of the most popular singers and stars of The VoiceBlake Shelton looks noticeably different, but so do some of country music's most memorable performers.

Winners like Cassadee Pope and Danielle Bradbery wore baby faces when they auditioned during their respective seasons. The same can be said for Morgan Wallen, a forgotten castmember from the show who's transformed more than anyone else on this list of The Voice stars then and now.
