MPD Catch Man Driving a Stolen Vehicle From the State of Washington
At around 10:45 on Wednesday, a Missoula Police Department officer was out on patrol and noticed something suspicious on a vehicle. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.
“An officer made observations of a vehicle in the 4000 block of highway 93 south that was determined to be displaying fictitious license plates out of the state of Washington,” Welsh said. “The officer made a traffic stop on the vehicle and determined that the license plates had actually been stolen out of the state of Washington. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle that the plates were mounted on had also been reported stolen in the state of Washington. The driver was identified as 29-year-old Charles Comesatnight.”
Comesatnight was taken into custody and currently faces one count of felony theft. According to Welsh, steps will be taken to make sure the stolen vehicle is returned to the rightful owner.
