At around 11:15 on Saturday, Missoula Police Department officers responded to the report of a disturbance in a park located in the 300 block of Kiwanis street. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.

“The officers made contact with two people who reported they had been assaulted by a single male,” Welsh said. “Officers later identified 47-year-old Steven Street. Mr. Street was located in the Downtown area the next day and he was transported to jail.”

According to court documents, Street assaulted one victim with what was described as a large broom stick. In addition, Street allegedly flipped a picnic table and caused injury to another victim’s arm. Street was charged with one count of felony assault with a weapon and one count of misdemeanor assault. Street was also charged with felony theft for allegedly stealing a bicycle that was valued at over $1,500.
