What is the Most Dangerous Vehicle in Montana?
You might be driving around in the most dangerous vehicle in Montana and not even know. You also might be a terrible driver and definitely know it, and if that's the case I can't help you.
Whatever the case may be, a recent study conducted by Glass Doctor researched the safest and most dangerous vehicle brands state-by-state in the U.S. Glass Doctor used information from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration from 2011-2020. The primary statistic used was number of fatal crashes per 1,000 drivers.
The study found Montana's most dangerous vehicles were all part of the big 3 automotive makers in the U.S.
Montana's Dangerous Cars
The study showed Dodge as the most dangerous car brand in the state of Montana. It was on par with the rest of the U.S. as Dodge was the most dangerous vehicle in 32 out of 50 (64%) states. Many of the states out West such as North Dakota, Idaho, Washington and Oregon found Dodge as their most dangerous vehicle.
Coming in second-most dangerous in Montana was Chevy and third was Ford. Montana loves its trucks, so it makes sense more crashes occur to vehicle brands such as Dodge, Chevy and Ford because of the popular vehicle makes - Ram, Silverado, F-150, etc.
Montana's Safest Cars
While the big 3 automotive makers were deemed the most dangerous, Montana's safest vehicle brand was Infinity. That wasn't a common trend across the rest of the states. Infinity was ranked 15th safest The only other state that had Infinity as its safest vehicle maker was Wyoming.
Coming in behind Infinity were Kia and Mercedes-Benz. Ironically, Kia just recalled a bunch of its vehicles, so maybe they aren't as safe as we think.
The nation's top 3 safest cars were Audi, Subaru and Mercedes.
