Partners Bring “Big Picture” Development to Missoula
In a classic case of redevelopment, a new partnership group is announcing plans to turn a former forest products location into a film production location, with the launch of "Story House Montana."
It's not only a new beginning for the Roseberg Forest Products site that closed last year, but the realization of efforts over the past several years to base large-scale film and video production in Montana.
- 🎬 And the partners are promising it will be a "sustainable" studio, which may employ more than 400 people in the Missoula area.
What is Story House Montana?
Sean Patrick Higgins and James Brown III have Broadway and film experience and see the 47-acre site as the perfect home for a large-scale studio operation.
Story House, Inc. will utilize the site for a 400,000-square-foot facility that will include studio space, sound stages, and production facilities. The company's objective is to build on a "foundation of real estate, sustainability, and storytelling."
The group will cut the ribbon on the Studios@Story House Montana on Friday.
Projects Already Lined Up
While other ventures have been proposed for Missoula in recent years, the Story House team says they already have projects in the pipeline. 🎞️
-St. George is a feature film written by Andrew Pastides and starring Friday Night Lights star Matt Lauria.
-Lowering the Bar a workplace comedy series written by Brown.
State Support for Story House
The partners will be taking advantage of Montana's MEDIA ACT incentives, which would offer up to $12 million a year for hubs like Story House.
