Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - KGVO listeners were able to speak directly to Montana Senator Steve Daines this week for the first time, and they took advantage of the opportunity.

Daines opened by focusing on his most recent visit to the wide-open southern border, where his chief concern was the illegal crossing of enemies to America.

Daines took Calls from KGVO Listeners for the First Time

“In the first 10 days of October, our border patrol agents had encountered individuals from countries who are state sponsors of terror from places like Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and Iraq,” began Senator Daines. “Since the first of October, we've had hundreds of individuals encounter on our southern border from just those countries alone. In fact, in the month of September, just one month prior, we encountered more than 1,000 individuals from just those countries.”

Daines was Deeply Concerned about the Invasion on the Southern Border

Daines encountered several individuals outside the airport and a Spanish-speaking staffer spoke to several who had paid the Mexican drug cartels a ransom to enter the country.

“Where are you headed? I'm headed to Boston,” he said “The next individual; where are you from? Ecuador. How much did you pay? $4,000; Where are you headed? Miami; the third individual; where are you from? Venezuela. How much did you pay to get here? $3,000; where are you headed? Chicago.”

A Listener Asked Daines about a Special Prosecutor for the Biden Finances

One listener asked Daines if a special prosecutor was going to be named to look into the Biden family finances as the 2024 election looms. Daines said it is almost assured that President Biden will be facing former President Trump in the 2024 election, and that voting trends have changed since 2020.

“It used to be that independent voters still kind of liked Biden, where they said, ‘Well, you know he's asleep; he's not capable, but we like him better than Trump because Trump's he's mean and puts out mean tweets and so forth,” he said. “Here's the problem now. Independent voters see Biden now as corrupt and independent voters are now shifting back to Trump.”

KGVO looks forward to having Senator Daines on Talk Back on a regular basis.
