Missoula Women Were Strangled, Punched, Slapped, and Head-Butted This Week
The Missoula County Attorney’s Office charged 14 new criminal complaints this past week. Eight of those cases involved some form of violence. County Attorney Kirsten Pabst says there was one aggravated assault that also involved assault on minors.
“The defendant in that case allegedly punched the children’s mother and then turned on her teenage son,” Pabst said. “Then a younger son intervened to try to stop that assault. There was another case where the defendant head-butted and strangled his girlfriend.”
In another case, a defendant allegedly punched his wife and pointed a loaded gun at her. He is also accused of breaking her phone as she tried to call law enforcement. According to Pabst, there were a variety of violent crimes this past week.
“A woman was charged with assault on a peace officer, obstructing, resisting, and criminal mischief,” Pabst said. “There was a partner or family member assault, second offense, in which the defendant allegedly slapped the victim and strangled her to the point of unconsciousness. When she was unconscious, she dropped to the floor and landed on her face. She broke some facial bones. It was a pretty serious case.”
Pabst says her office also filed two endangerment crimes and four property crimes.
