Inclement weather won’t stop Missoula from honoring those who’ve served during today’s Veteran’s Day Ceremonies, but there will be a slight change of venue for part of the ceremony.

"We usually have it out at the Doughboy statue, at the courthouse grounds in downtown Missoula. We will again be having it there, we'll have the flag raising ceremony on the flag pole outside by the doubhboy stature. That first part, the flag-raising ceremony will be outside at the Doughboy statue, but then the rest of the ceremony will move into the courthouse.

Governor Steve Bullock will be speaking in Missoula along with Mayor John Engen and County Commissioner Jean Curtiss. The ceremony will feature a particular theme.

"This is the 100th anniversary of the start of WWI and the 50th anniversary of the start of Vietnam, and the theme we've chosen correlates with that," Gallagher said. "The theme is "Every War Has its Beginning, but Does it Really Ever End?" Obviously, acknowledging the beginnings of those wars, but also acknowledging that, for the people that fight the wars, the war doesn't really stop."

The time and date of the Veteran’s Day ceremony should be easy to remember: it will start at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month just as it has since the end of World War One, which ended at the same time and date back in 1918.
