Missoula Theft Investigation Leads to Drug Discovery and Arrest

Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - A Missoula Police Department Officer responded to the Walmart on Mullan Road for a theft investigation. 34-year-old Tesla Hall and a male were thought to have secreted merchandise in a purse and backpack.  

While detaining Hall, she identified herself by several different names. The officer concluded that she was obstructing his investigation and he transported her to the Missoula County Detention Facility.  

The officer was informed that jail staff found dangerous drugs and paraphernalia in Hall’s bra. They found a small plastic bag of suspected methamphetamine. Later, a single white pill held in a small plastic bag was also found in Hall’s bra. The officer interviewed Hall who said the drugs found in her bra were methamphetamine and fentanyl.  

According to court documents, Hall admitted to using methamphetamine and fentanyl earlier that day. Hall wouldn’t tell the officer where she obtained her drugs, however, she explained she obtained them during a drug deal in Missoula.  

She said she arrived in Missoula from Helena earlier that day. Then Hall asked to end questioning until she had a lawyer present. The officer informed her that was her right and ended his interview. Then the officer explained each charge Hall was booked for, as well as the warrants she had.

The officer left the jail and then tested the substance that was found. The substance tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine. The white pill that was found was identified as possibly being Clonazepam, a Schedule 4 drug. Each item was logged as evidence for the case and secured at the Missoula Police Department. 

Hall is currently being charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs, criminal possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstructing a peace officer. On June 26, 2024, Hall made her initial appearance in Missoula Justice Court and her bond was set at $25,000.
