Originally, the 2013 Missoula Pond Hockey Tournament was scheduled for January 26-27, but due to dissatisfactory weather that could impact ice conditions on our rinks, we have changed the date for our tournament to February 2-3. Yes, we are aware that this happens to fall on the same weekend as the Super Bowl. Honestly, I can’t think of a better time to have a tournament. It’s a weekend well-known for extreme competition, so you will probably already be pumped up! Seeing as how the Super Bowl kicks off at 4:30 MST, you will have plenty of time to prepare your finger foods, as the hockey tournament will wrap up at noon that day.

We are inviting teams of four to six players to compete, so call your buddies and dust off your skates. Due to the date change, we are offering registration at a reduced rate of $300. Registration availability is on a first-come, first-serve basis. So reserve your spot today to be one of the 24 eligible teams!

Registration can be done by visiting The Blaze website, or by contacting Townsquare Media live events coordinator Ray Davis at (406) 523-9803. Registration IS required to compete and you MUST have an active USA Hockey number to play. The cost of registration includes six practice jerseys, and a chance at winning the first-ever Missoula Pond Hockey Tournament.

With three rinks and 24 teams, spectators will enjoy two days of ice hockey madness and insanity. Enjoy up-close hockey action with your family and friends. The Missoula Pond Hockey Tournament is free and open to the public of all ages. Everyone is sure to be pleased, as there will be food vendors, a bar for those 21+ and a kids’ area available during tournament hours. Children will be required to be accompanied by an adult at all times. The tournament will be held from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, February 2 and 6 a.m. to Noon on Sunday, February 3.

The first-ever Missoula Pond Hockey Tournament: Saturday–Sunday, February 2-3 – from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. Saturday and from 6 a.m. – 12 p.m. Sunday – at The Ranch Club, 8501 Ranch Club Road, Missoula. Players: Teams of 4–6 players; registration is $300; Spectators: Admission is free and open to the public. RSVP on Facebook.
