Missoula Police Arrest Suspect For Whacking a Man in The Head With a Club
Eye witnesses called 911 on Wednesday afternoon after they saw one man whack another man over the head with some kind of club. Missoula Police Public information officer Travis Welsh explains.
"About 2:53 in the afternoon, officers were called to the site of a disturbance near the intersection of Byron and Stoddard streets," Welsh said. "The officers arrived and located one man down who was suffering an injury to his head, he was conscious and breathing and speaking with medical personnel."
The suspect could not be found on scene, but police were able to track him down.
"They later located the suspect, identified as Larry Sorenson, who is 69-years of age at his residence," Welsh said. "Mr. Sorenson was taken into custody and transported to jail for the offense of assault with a weapon. Witnesses described the weapon as some kind of wooden club, but not a bat."
According to the police report, the attack occurred because Mr. Sorenson believed the other man had vandalized his car. Sorenson was placed in jail on a $50,000 bond.
