On May 5, 2022, at approximately 4:12 a.m., a Missoula Police Department Officer was dispatched to an intimidation call. The complainant called 911 to report that her son, 27-year-old Dylan Ohl, had threatened to drive his car through her house. The complainant said that she was afraid of her son and that he had a history of drug use. Police Public Information Officer Lydia Arnold explains.

“Officer responded to several calls for service from the same person in a short period of time,” Arnold said. “The caller was concerned for their safety as suspect, Dylan Ohl, had made threats of driving through their residence and other threatening statements. When officers located the vehicle the caller had described, officers attempted a traffic stop.”

Court documents indicate the vehicle made no indication that it was going to yield to the traffic stop.

“Ohl continued to drive at the posted speed limit through areas of Missoula with no indication of stopping for the officer,” Arnold said. “The officer had their overhead lights activated and used their siren system to make different noises to try and get the driver to pull over. Officers eventually had to cut the vehicle off and block Ohl’s vehicle. Ohl was the lone person in the vehicle and was cooperative during the arrest.”

The officer contacted Missoula's on call probation and parole officer to confirm that Ohl was on probation.

“Officers knew Ohl was on probation based on intel gathered during the span of the calls for service,” Arnold said. “Probation and parole became involved. A probation search was conducted where dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia were located. Ohl was arrested on multiple charges and transported to the Missoula County Detention Center. This case is still under investigation with the Missoula Police Department.”

In the vehicle, the officer located a bag of methamphetamine, an empty syringe, two syringes containing liquid methamphetamine, and a large fixed blade knife.

Ohl is currently being charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
