At around 12:25 p.m. on Wednesday, someone called Missoula police and reported a disturbance in the 3500 block of Mullan Road. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.

“The complainant there had reported that two males were on the side of the building and they were engaged in a physical fight,” Welsh said. “When the officers got there, they observed the two males. However, the physical fight was no longer in progress. They identified both, one of whom was 49-year-old Chad Lobeck.”

Welsh says officers continued their investigation and connected Lobeck to a crime that occurred a few weeks earlier.

“The officers determined that Mr. Lobeck was in possession of items that were taken in a burglary reported on August 13, 2019 from the 500 block of North California Street. Mr. Lobeck is also on pretrial supervision and he was taken into custody.”

Lobeck currently faces one count of felony burglary and one count of misdemeanor theft. He also was arrested for violating his pretrial supervision. This is not the first time Lobeck has been arrested for burglary. In January, MPD arrested Lobeck twice in less than two weeks after he was connected to two separate burglaries.
