The Missoula Job Service will be hosting a career fair on Tuesday, April 21 at the Hilton Garden Inn on North Reserve.

Spokesman J.R. Strand said the career fair will be from 3:00 p.m. to  6:00 p.m. however veterans will be allowed early access at 2:30 p.m.

"Representatives from nearly 100 businesses will be there in person," Strand said. "You can look them in the eye, and we have jobs for firefighters, the medical industry, manufacturing firms, truck driving companies, the hospitality industry, resorts, educational facilities and dozens more."

Strand said the job market in 2015 is vastly improved from the Great Recession that began in 2008.

"As of yesterday, we had 814 jobs on our job board at the Missoula Job Service, " he said. "In 2008, we had 89 jobs available. At the career fair, we'll have both full and part time opportunities for job seekers. It is important that you bring several copies of an updated resume and to dress as if you are actually applying for a job. So, shave, get a haircut, and try to see yourself as a prospective employer would see you."

The career fair will be from 3 till 6 pm at the Hilton Garden Inn with veterans allowed early access to the fair at 2:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
