Missoula Employees Chase Down Intoxicated Beer Snatcher
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On June 19, 2026, several Missoula Police Department Officers were dispatched to the area of Yoke’s on Broadway for a reported physical disturbance that occurred. The complainant, an employee of Yoke’s, said a person attempted to steal alcohol and ran off from the business. The employee described the male and said the employees were chasing him on Pine Street.
The officer contacted the Yoke’s manager, who pulled up surveillance showing a male exiting the store with a case of beer in his hand without attempting to pay. The manager said that he and another employee were standing near the guest services desk when they were informed of the theft. They chased after the male. When the employee caught up to the suspect and grabbed him, the suspect slammed the case of beer onto the pavement, causing it to break open.
The employee released the suspect and began collecting the beer cans. The suspect came back and physically shoved the employee. The suspect also grabbed a couple of loose beer cans and threw one at the employee before fleeing on foot. The manager said that he did not know the suspect’s name, but the suspect had been previously trespassed after committing theft multiple times the month before.

The officer sent a photo from the surveillance to other officers in an attempt to identify and locate the suspect. Meanwhile, other officers went to the Poverello and located a sleeping male who matched the description of the suspect. An officer woke up the male and detained him. The male was identified as Jarin Williams.
Williams was provided Miranda. Williams advised that he took approximately $20 of alcohol from Yoke’s, possibly a “30 rack.” Williams passed all points of sale without paying. Williams said a male employee chased him off the property and tried to “choke [Williams] out.” Williams said he did not put his hands on the employee. Williams added that he “got blackout drunk” and did not even remember stealing the alcohol. Williams agreed to submit to a PBT, which resulted in a 0.213 BrAC.
