The Missoula County Attorney’s Office charged 15 new criminal complaints this week, which is one less than last week and right around the weekly average. On Friday morning, County Attorney Kirsten Pabst provided her report.

“Seven of those fell into the partner or family member assault category,” Pabst said. “There were a couple of strangulations. A couple cases involved children and very young children. We charged two sex cases. One was sexual intercourse without consent. We charged another case that involved allegations of sexual assault. The allegation there is that the defendant attended a concert and inappropriately touched or grabbed several young females at that concert against their wishes.”

That particular defendant was charged with three counts of sexual assault. Pabst said her office also had three endangerment cases this week.

“One involved aggravated DUI, assault, and driving while suspended,” Pabst said. “We may end up amending that case to more serious charges. The investigation is pending. There was also a criminal endangerment case. In that case, the defendant fired off multiple shots from a weapon in town and ended up in a standoff with SWAT. There was also a felony DUI.”

According to Pabst, they charged one property crime as well and that was a theft case.

“The defendant allegedly took a running car outside of a bar that was parked in the parking lot,” Pabst said. “Finally, we charged two new drug felonies. One involved possession of methamphetamine and the other involved large amounts of cocaine.”

In addition, one man was charged with attempted homicide for allegedly shooting multiple shots at another man. You can listen to Pabst’s full report below:
