Missoula Police Investigate Credit Card Theft, Discover More
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On February 27, 2025, a Missoula Police Department Officer began an investigation into a theft from a male who reported that his credit card had been used without permission to pay for a variety of things. According to court documents, the credit card was used for the following purchases:
- Laundry Services ($12.00)
- Mullan Gas Station ($350.00)
- Studio 1 Hotel ($250.00)
- Conoco ($508.00)
The officer obtained video footage from Mullan Gas Station that showed two females at the register. The officer observed a female, who was later identified as 39-year-old Randi Hill, swiping the credit card for the $350 purchase. The officer also noticed that the two females arrived in a black GMC Yukon. Then the officer spoke to an employee from Studio 1 Hotel who reported that a room was registered to Hill and confirmed the car associated with the rental was a GMC Yukon.
Another officer located the GMC Yukon at Target and conducted a traffic stop. Hill and the driver were on probation. A probation and parole officer was informed and advised Hill had search terms. He requested a search be conducted.
Under Miranda, Hill admitted she found the card in a trash can at Studio 1 Hotel. At this time, a condom fell out of Hill’s pocket. According to court documents, Hill was asked if she had ingested any drugs from inside the condom and she denied it.
She admitted to using the card and securing services and money for it. She admitted to purchasing at least one gift card but the card became inoperative and didn’t go through. She said the money was refunded on the card because it wasn’t working but she had obtained money that didn’t belong to her.
An officer searched Hill and was unable to find the credit card, but did find drug paraphernalia in the car. Hill admitted that she threw the card out of the window when the officer was behind them. K-9 Officer Zip and his handler arrived and Zip located the credit card nearby.

After reviewing body camera footage, officers saw Hill clearly taking something out of her mouth and put it into her sweatshirt. Officers believed she was trying to hide a controlled substance in the condom and ate it before disposing of the condom at the scene. Officers noted that Hill’s demeanor was odd, indicating possible use of a controlled substance.
Hill was placed under arrest and was transported to the Missoula County Detention Center. She is currently being charged with felony tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and deceptive practices.
