Aggressive Customer Strikes Missoula Store Employee
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On July 18, 2025, Missoula Police Department officers were dispatched to a report of an assault at the YWCA Secret Seconds second-hand store. An officer responded and spoke with an employee, Jane Doe. Doe stated she was working at Secret Seconds when she observed a female, later identified as 42-year-old Tavin Swanson.
Doe observed Swanson being aggressive with other customers. Doe told Swanson she needed to leave the store, at which time Swanson “shoulder checked” Doe a couple of times. Doe reported that she pushed Swanson towards the door, and as they approached the front door, Doe asked Swanson to leave the shopping basket full of merchandise.
Swanson then punched Doe with a closed fist. Doe stated she began to punch Swanson back and ended up pushing Swanson out the door. Doe stated Swanson was last seen walking towards the Poverello Center. Doe reported that her lip had been split and showed the officer.

An Officer Finds Swanson
Before she confronted Swanson, Doe took a video of her. The officer took a photo from the video and sent it to another officer who was patrolling the area for Swanson. The officer located Swanson inside the Magic Diamond Casino on West Broadway.
The officer approached Swanson, who was seated at a keno machine, and informed her of who he was. Swanson initially ignored him but eventually acknowledged that he was behind her. The officer placed Swanson into handcuffs and escorted her to a patrol car.
