Missoula has a largely diverse arts scene, and it can be difficult to figure out how to get involved and what might suit you best. From painting to live theater, here are 4 easy ways to jump right into Missoula’s arts and maybe even meet some like-minded artists.

Western Cider’s “Drink and Draw”

Western Cider’s cider mill hosts the ZACC to put on an event in which people of all skill levels are invited to drink, and draw! The event is held every second Wednesday of the month and often includes live models such as the girls from our very own Hellgate Roller Derby. Drink and Draw is free for the public, and a portion of the cash from every cider purchased goes towards benefiting the ZACC, helping the local arts community thrive.

Missoula Community Theater

MCT has multiple shows annually and strives to involve folks from all walks of life. They’re currently working on the Spongebob Musical, showing from April 29th-May 15th. MCT has theater camps for children ranging from day-long to the renowned, multi-week PAC. Tickets and events may sell out quickly, so it’s important to stay up-to-date with their website and socials.

Painting With a Twist

Painting With a Twist holds events based on teaching you and your party how to create a piece of art that you’ll love, all while you enjoy a nice glass of wine. The events are BYOW (bring your own wine), but they will provide you with glasses, corks, and painting supplies. Events are meant to be booked ahead of time, so get your crew together and check it out!

Missoula Public Library’s “Art With a Purpose”

Art With a Purpose is for children to visit the library and enjoy a space to create art. This event is held every MCPS Early-Out Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m., and is open to children of all ages. The art created will be showcased for the public within the library, and is a wonderful way to give your child easy access to creativity and learning.
