I did a lot of traveling in 2019 - I flew back to New York for a friend's wedding, I flew out to San Francisco for a music festival over the summer, I flew back home for the holidays. I spent a lot of time on planes last year, and became an expert on making connections, choosing the right flights, knowing where the best fast food joint in the Salt Lake City airport was, all the essentials.

Fast-forward to 2020, and I haven't traveled once. I was supposed to! I had another friend's wedding that was scheduled for May, and another music festival scheduled for July, but neither one of those ended up happening, and I wasn't sure how it would feel to be on a plane in the first place (in case you haven't heard, there's a bit of a pandemic going around).

But I know people are slowly returning to air travel, and if you're going to California, the trip from Missoula just got a little easier. Alaska Airlines is adding three nonstop, daily flights from Missoula International Airport that'll take you to San Diego, San Francisco, and San Jose. This is in addition to their nonstop flight to Los Angeles, which began back in March.

Having to connect to other airports before reaching your destination is probably the most frustrating thing about traveling out of Missoula, so this definitely helps out if you're traveling to California. Still waiting on them to add that direct flight back to New York, though.
