As I promised on the air I would keep everyone up to date on my health since I was hospitalized for about a month. When I went into the hospital on August 17, 2010 I had an A1C of 12.3 which basically means my blood glucose level was averaging 350 or better.

In November my A1C was 6.6 Yeah near normal blood glucose. Kidney failure also became an issue while I was in the hospital, that issue has resolved itself as well and my kidney's are functioning normally. I will post as I recover more and would like to let everyone know if you have questions I will do my best to answer them.

If you have diabetes and need to talk I would suggest you visit with the diabetes educators at St. Pats or at Community Medical Center. There is help for us to understand the silence of diabetes and help to get all of us on track to lead long and healthy lives with the disease. Don't let it sneak up on you like I dd.
